The main purpose of Ahrefs is to analyze a website’s link profile, keyword rankings, and SEO health.

Ahrefs also lets you research keywords for Google, YouTube, and Amazon.
Ahrefs is often used to find content that has performed well (in terms of social shares and/or links) on a particular subject.
Ahrefs was launched in 2011 as a tool for analyzing backlinks.
Over the years, its feature set has expanded.
Ahrefs is primarily used by:
- Owners of small businesses who do their own SEO
- Multi-client SEO agencies
- The marketing department of an employer’s website is run by “in-house” marketers
- Multi-site affiliate marketers
- Consultations on an SEO strategy for clients
